sandygeew The variations in the rhythms, sounds, textures, moods of Ben and Shenzo's music is addictive. So uplifting to listen to. Can't choose a favourite track. Love them all so much.

about

A non traditional world album that features bizarre found sound instruments made by Ben, Including many appropriated string instruments that were presented to Shenzo with a challenging smirk.
But much to the delight of both these musicians, the challenge produced some amazing musical discoveries. Shenzo applied many unorthodox methods to achieve a variety of timbres on Violas and Violins, as well as the odd contraptions he was invited to bow.
A chopstick, Plectrum Viola ,Octave strings and prepared 3/4 3 string violin were some of the exciting additions that made each track reminiscent of some distant traditional instrumentation.
Ben made use of a flowerpot, Various barrels and bins with rubber and sticky-taped heads. A metallic snare drum filled with bolts and screws and a small wooden box known as a cajonito. His 16 stringed instrument the "Kotoor" also makes it onto the track "Little Boxes".

A testament to the term FOUND SOUND, This album is playful exploring the possibilities of connection between these 2 musicians, And each of them try to forge a larger ensemble sound out of 4 hands.
Music To An Invisible Film conjurers up imagery and narrative with your eyes closed. From the complex minds of 2 musicians from Australia this album takes us through many distant parts of the world and seems to touch on oddly familiar disciplines..but that's the trick .. .there is nothing normal here, it's inherently a new direction for world music... if that's ever truly possible?
